These are tough economic times, and we encounter a growing number of people who are not able to afford the basic needs in life. Single women with children are being hit harder than any other group. Downtown Outreach Ministries accepts referrals from all community agencies and local churches and continues its 19 year history of providing for the neediest of Flint and Genesee county residents.

Every day . . .

We provide clothing, and food to those who have very little.

We provide household items to clients who have just moved and have no bedding, dishes, or the items necessary to make a house a home.

We provide personal care items to individuals and families.

We provide approximately 1,000 new or slightly used winter coats to homeless and at-risk individuals during the cold, Michigan winter.

We provide food during the year by sponsoring 10 Mobile Food Pantries, feeding around 1,000 individuals as a result of each event.
